ADOBONG GREEN BEANS OR SITAW (Asian long beans) with FRIED TOFU

This recipe is an easy weekend dinner with family and friends. It's full of flavor, hearty, tasty and goes well with steamed rice. It is actually an Asian dish and the taste most likely close to Teriyaki flavor.

TIPS:

- cut the beans into the same length to ensure even cooking

- do not overcook the beans

- allow the adobo sauce to reduce before adding the beans

- stir fry the beans just until tender and crisp

Ingredients:

1 1/2 TB Oil

1 pkg. Organic Tofu, Extra Firm, cut into cubes and fried (marinate-optional)

See how to marinate the tofu on Sweet and Sour Tofu Recipe

1 medium onion, small diced

5 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 c. Lemon Juice

1/2 c. Water

1/4 c. Soy sauce (I used Bragg Aminos)

1 tsp. Sesame Oil

1 TB Sweetener ( I used agave nectar)

1 bunch of long beans or a pound of green beans, trim the ends, cut into 2-2 1/2 inch length

1/2 c. Red Bell Pepper, small diced

Salt & Pepper to taste ( I used Umami Mushrooms Seasoning)

Instruction:

1. In a skillet, heat the oil over medium heat

2. Add the onions and garlic, stir until lightly brown the add the red bell pepper.

3. Add the lemon juice, soy sauce and water, let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.

4. Add the long beans or green beans and seasonings. Let it cook for about 3-5 minutes or until tender crisp.
