HEARTY CAROB OATMEAL

OATS are incredibly nutritious too. It is rich in anti-oxidants and it contains a soluble fiber. It can also lower cholesterol levels. I like using the organic whole rolled oats, it is more flavorful and the texture is perfect for my palate. Quick oats takes a shortest time to cook, but the texture may be mushy. Oats can be use in muffins, granola cereal or bars, cookies and other baked goods. In this recipe, I added carob powder and used coconut almond milk to give an extra flavor to my oatmeal, then topped it with slices of strawberries and slices of banana, raspberries, blackberries, slivered almonds, shredded coconut and chia seeds.

HEARTY OATMEAL

Ingredients:

2 c. Water

1 c. Whole rolled oats, organic

1 TB Carob Powder

1 c. Coconut almond milk or any plant based milk of your choice

3 TB Maple Syrup

Toppings: Berries, nuts, seeds and fruits of your choice

Partly boil the water and carob powder in a small pot and stir with whisk until carob is completely dissolved. Then add the rolled oats, let it cook for about 2-3 minutes before adding the milk and maple syrup.

Note:

Maple syrup can be substituted with any sweetener of your choice, but measurement may need some adjustment.

Carob powder is optional and can be omitted if you prefer to have a plain oatmeal.
