HUMMUS

Hummus is a very popular to pair with pita bread or veggies for dip or spread, or even to spread in a wrap and sandwiches. These recipes will give you more option to what you decide to make. The good thing about it is, it has the same base recipe to use and by adding extra ingredient, you'll enjoy the extra flavor that satisfies the craving. Very easy and full of nutrition that will keep you going throughout the day.





HUMMUS ORIGINAL


Ingredients


1 1/2 c. Garbanzo or Chickpeas, cooked, unsalted

1/3 c. Tahini

3-4 cloves Garlic

1 tsp Salt

2 TB Lemon Juice

1 1/2 TB Olive Oil

1/4 c. Fresh Parsley


Instructions


In a food processor or a blender, add the chickpeas with the rest of the ingredients. Blend or process until becomes smooth.


Note: If it is too thick, add a small amount of water or olive oil.




HUMMUS with Avocado



Use Hummus Original Recipe plus

Add 1 medium ripe avocado, peeled & seeded




HUMMUS with Roasted Bell Pepper




Use Hummus Original Recipe plus

Add 3/4 c. Roasted Red Peppers (store bought) or homemade


Instruction for roasting: Wash and clean 2 red peppers, cored and seeded. Roast on fire, grill or oven just enough to slightly cook it and get the roasted flavor. Set it aside.
