BEEF STEAKS - Filipino Vegan Beef Steak " Vegan Bistek "

This recipe is an Asian Filipino style cuisine. I used dried TVP, soaked in hot water for about 15-30 minutes, add all the seasonings and marinate overnight. If you're in a hurry, you have an option to cook it with the marinade to absorb all the flavor. The taste is very pleasing especially when you serve it with steamed rice.





VEGAN FILIPINO BEEF STEAK " VEGAN BISTEK "


Ingredients


7 oz. pack of TVP Beef Slices, soaked & squeezed

1/4 c. Bragg Aminos or Soy Sauce

1/2 c. Pineapple Juice

2 medium size lemon or 4-5 pcs Calamansi Juice

1 TB Mushroom Seasonings

5 cloves Garlic, minced

3 pieces Yellow Onions, sliced into rings

1 c. Water


Instructions


- Soak the TVP slices with hot water for 15-30 minutes, then drain and squeeze the excess water.


- Marinade the TVP in soy sauce, pineapple juice, lemon or calamansi and mushroom seasoning for at least 1 hour.


- Pan fry the onion rings until it soften and turned golden brown on the edges. Set aside.


- Pour the marinated TVP in a pan and simmer for 20-30 minutes or until the sauce reduce a little bit. Remove the sauce and set aside.


- Pan fried the TVP with a little sauce until it turned brown or changed the texture, then set aside.


- Saute garlic until golden brown, pour the sauce, add the TVP and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.


- Transfer the dish in a serving plate and top with pan fried onion rings.
