SOUTHERN STYLE BISCUIT

This is my little boy's and his dad's favorite breakfast every Sunday. The most requested menu every weekend. My husband's parents grew up in Alabama and Kentucky, so that's the reason why he loves it.

SOUTHERN STYLE BISCUIT

Ingredients

2 c. Flour ( 1 c. Whole Grain Spelt & 1 c. White Flour)

2 TB. Baking Powder

1 tsp. Salt

2 TB Ground Flaxseeds plus 1/4 c Water

1 1/2 c. Unsweetened Almond Milk

1 TB Lemon Juice

4 TB Unsalted Butter, melted

Instruction

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees

Mix all the dry ingredients, then combine with the liquid ingredients. Mix well.

Set the dough on the counter and use the rolling pin to flatten it for at least 1/2 an inch thick.

Cut the dough with a round cookie cutter. Set aside the excess dough and roll and cut it again.

Place them in a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Bake for 10-15 minutes or until slightly golden. Let it cool in the wire rack.

Note: Make sure to check the biscuit, oven temperature always varies.

Serve them with Southern Style Brown Gravy.
