This recipe reminds me of our popular street food back home, we called it fish balls. Craving is real and I have to create it without fish, in fact I can't stand the fishy taste any more except the mildness fishy taste of seaweeds or Nori sheets and that's how I ended up with this recipe.
TOFU FISHLESS BALLS with Sweet Chili Sauce
Ingredients
14 oz Extra firm tofu, mashed
1/2 c. All Purpose Flour
1/2 c. Cornstarch
1/2 c. Onion, minced
1/2 c. Carrots, minced
1/2 c. Seaweed sheets, crushed
1 TB Nutritional Yeast
1 TB Onion powder
1 TB Garlic powder
1 TB Baking Powder (optional)
1 tsp Turmeric powder
1 1/2 TB Cane Sugar
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 c. Water
Mix all ingredients until all the ingredients are fully combined.
Form into an inch and half ball size
Deep fry or bake until golden brown
Serve warm with sweet chili sauce or any of your preferred sauce
