VEGAN TOFU FRIED CHICKEN
Ingredients
1 14oz Extra Firm or Firm Organic Tofu, freeze, thawed & drained
3-4 TB Soy Sauce
2 TB Olive Oil
1 TB Lemon Juice
4-5 TB Cornstarch
1 TB Nutritional Yeast
1 tsp Smoked Paprika
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric
Oil for frying
Instructions
- Freeze the tofu overnight or so, then thaw and drain the next day.
Options: Can be drained the water out and slice before thawing, or freeze the whole tofu in package and break it into small pieces after thawed and drained the day you need it.
- After tofu is thawed and drained, add the soy sauce, olive oil and lemon juice. Let it set for 15-20 minutes to absorb the flavor.
- Add the nutritional yeast, paprika, garlic & onion powder, turmeric and cornstarch on marinated tofu. Combine well until evenly coated.
- Fry in a low medium heat until it turns golden brown.
- Serve warm with your favorite dip.
